Lazrit for OMTech CO2 Lasers: Cut-File Prep

OMTech sells the widest range of CO2 hobby and prosumer lasers in the US — from K40 desktop to 100W industrial. All of them run LightBurn (or RDWorks). Lazrit's SVG export works on every OMTech machine via LightBurn.

3 lifetime exports — no credit card.

Import steps

  1. Export SVG from LazritWorkspace → Export → SVG.
  2. Import into LightBurnFile → Import → pick the SVG. LightBurn handles the layer split.
  3. Pick OMTech-specific settingsFor the Polar 350: ~15 mm/s 70% on 3 mm plywood. For larger 80W+: ~25 mm/s 60%.
  4. Frame and runOMTech machines support framing in LightBurn — verify the cut bounds against your stock.

RDWorks alternative

OMTech ships some machines with RDWorks instead of LightBurn. RDWorks accepts SVG but the import is less smooth — LightBurn is the recommended path.

Galvo fiber options

OMTech's galvo line uses EZCAD. EZCAD imports SVG; mark engrave-layer for marking operations.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lazrit support the K40 desktop laser?

Yes — same SVG workflow. K40s are 40W CO2; expect cut speeds in the 8–12 mm/s range on 3 mm plywood.

Can I use Lazrit with RDWorks?

Yes — RDWorks reads SVG. Layers may need manual assignment.

Will my OMTech laser settings translate from Lazrit's profile?

Lazrit's profile is geometric (bridges, detail), not laser-tuning. You set power and speed in your laser app.
