Lazrit for Monport CO2 Lasers: Production Prep

Monport sells higher-wattage CO2 lasers aimed at small-shop production — 80W, 100W, and 130W. All of them ship with LightBurn support out of the box. Lazrit's SVG export works on every Monport CO2 machine.

3 lifetime exports — no credit card.

Import steps

  1. Export Lazrit SVGWorkspace → Export → SVG.
  2. Import into LightBurnFile → Import → pick the SVG. LightBurn picks up cut and engrave layers.
  3. Tune for Monport wattage80W on 3 mm plywood: ~25 mm/s 70%. 100W: ~35 mm/s 60%. 130W: ~50 mm/s 50%. Always test on scrap first.
  4. Frame and runMonport machines support full LightBurn framing.

Higher wattage = thicker stock

100W+ Monport machines comfortably cut 6 mm plywood and 10 mm acrylic. Lazrit's profile defaults to 3 mm — override in the workspace for thicker stock.

Air assist

Essential at higher wattages to avoid flame-up. Lazrit's file doesn't control air assist; that's your laser's job.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lazrit support Monport's galvo lasers?

Yes — galvo lasers read SVG via EZCAD. Mark engrave-layer for marking operations.

Can I cut thicker stock with Lazrit profiles?

Yes — override the thickness in the workspace. Bridge widths and minimum detail will adjust automatically.

What about Monport's fiber lasers?

Fiber laser cutting works with the standard SVG output. For marking, use the engrave layer.
